Key early leaders of ARUPS included Dr Rahmat Ismail (HIMPSI), Dr Mahmood Nazar Mohamed (PSIMA), Dr Allan Bernardo (PAP), and Dr Soree Pokaeo (TPA). Dr Mahmood played a vital role until his passing in 2010, after which leadership from PSIMA continued under Dr Ariffin and Dr Goh. Their leadership played a pivotal role in shaping ARUPS’ trajectory.
ARUPS is a union of national psychological associations across Southeast Asia, committed to advancing ethical, collaborative, and culturally informed psychological practice. Our members work together to promote academic exchange, capacity building, and regionally relevant psychological research.
Established in 2006, ARUPS is a regional consortium of psychological societies committed to advancing scientific inquiry, professional standards, and collaborative engagement across ASEAN.
